Aromatherapy has long been known to help aid in healing, regenerating skin cells or even relaxing the body. Creating your own personal aromatherapy skin care, can be a healthy alternative to many products on the market today. In addition, it is designed specifically for your body.

What Oils Can Be Used In Aromatherapy Skin Care

When looking into aromatherapy skin care, it is important to discover the basic oils that are used and their properties. Learning about the benefits of each oil, can determine which should be used in creating an aromatherapy skin care line that will enhance and improve your own skin. If acne is an issue, Lavender, Tea Tree and Cajeput are essential oils that can be used to help with this condition. Add a few drops to rosewater and create your own toner. Purchase a fragrance and lanolin free cream and then add a few drops of the essential oil. This makes a lotion that can be massaged into the skin; if the skin is inflamed however, do not massage.

An aromatherapy skin care line can also use Frankincense, Neroli and Rose oil to help with aging skin. If you’re attempting to get rid of blackheads try these oils Eucalyptus and Lavender in a facial steam. Bruising is a common problem that can be helped with Lavender. This extremely versatile oil can be used to help bruising by adding it to a bath; or, putting the Lavender on a cotton ball and dabbing the bruised area.

When creating an aromatherapy skin care line, consider how often dry skin can be a problem. Rose, Sandalwood and of course, Lavender are oils that will reduce the affects of dry skin. Again, the best way to use these oils is by placing them in a lotion that is lanolin and fragrance free, and then massage it into the dry skin. This will help rejuvenate your skin, making it softer. For many women varicose veins are a problem. Use Cyprus or Myrrh oil in a bath, soak for about 15 minutes. These can also be used in lotion form; they work best on spider type varicose veins.

There are many other oils that can be used in an aromatherapy skin care line. Many, like Lavender, are used for multiple conditions with very good results. Some can be used in conjunction to form a relaxing bath that can help with insomnia or nervousness. Aromatherapy skin care is a wonderful personnel gift for friends and family too. Aromatherapy is a proven method to assist the body in a natural way.

Everywhere you look these days’ aromatherapy products, or what purports to be aromatherapy products abound. Aromatherapy is used to promote everything from dish washing soaps to flea collars. So what is aromatherapy? How do I go about finding good aromatherapy information? One of the first pieces of information to understand is that not all aromatherapy products are created equal.

The most important part of any aromatherapy product is an essential oil. The oil will have been derived from whatever plant aroma is being used. So the first piece of information you need to know is that the quality and effectiveness of the product is going depend on the quality of the essential oil. How and where it is grown, how it was handled post-harvest and very importantly, how the oil was extracted. Oils can be produced by a distillation process of the entire plant or of specific parts of the plant and usually distillation of the leaves or flowers produce a much stronger and more pure extract of the essential oils.

Other important factors to be considered are the pressure and temperature used in the extraction process. Dr Gary Young of Young Living Oils, for example, has developed a low temperature and pressure method that retains the maximum of the value of the essential oil. It takes longer and costs more, but the increase in quality and effectiveness is worth it. Dr Young is also very particular about his raw materials. He grows a large proportion of the herbs he uses, all organically, and is very exacting when obtaining the rest.

Another method of producing oils used in many of the less expensive type of products is to squeeze the oils from the plants. According to aromatherapy information this method produces oils that cost less, but provide less benefit as well as aroma. However, it is claimed that this method makes aromatherapy more affordable and provides benefits, although limited, to those on a stricter budget.

Aromatherapy Information Can Be Mixed

Depending on its intended use, aromatherapy can receive mixed reviews, as some who use it simply for the scent swear by how burning an aromatherapy candle can help them relax or feel less stressed. Those who use the method for massage claim the scent alone does not produce the desired effects. To achieve the full effects of aromatherapy, the oils need to be massaged into the skin while the olfactory nerves pick up and scent and join in a two-pronged approach to relieve tension.

A bit of research into aromatherapy information will reveal that the strength and purity of an essential oil affects the quantity of oil used in a particular product as well as how well it is made a part of that product. If the oil is weak, more of it will be required for a similar result. Obviously a much better and stronger oil is produced by distillation, (especially low temperature and pressure distillation as produced by Young Living Oils), than the squeezing process.

The effects of aromatherapy, as the skeptics will point out, cannot be explained and quantified scientifically, but then neither can love! Aromatherapy information has been gathered and written about over millennia. How effective it is will depend on the individual being treated, the quality of the essential oil and how it is applied.

For more information, there is a very good book I can recommend that is packed with aromatherapy information. It is called “Aromatherapy – Learn The Power Of Aromatherapy” by Rachel Adams. It is very affordable and you can get it HERE. Aromatherapy information explained. Use it to enhance your life with aromatherapy.

In order to produce an inviting scent, aromatic aromatherapy essential oils are often blended together. This blending is an art. The entire aim of aromatic aromatherapy blending is to create a pleasing fragrance, although therapeutic advantages can also be gained.

Although the smell of the blend is the main focus, the health and safety aspects of blending is also of concern as some oils can be hazardous in their concentrated form. For some people with particular medical conditions there are oils that can cause adverse reactions. It can take years to master the art of aromatic aromatherapy blending as there are so many oils to choose from and the possible combinations are endless.

Producing an aromatherapy perfume is a bit like composing music. It combines base notes, middle notes and top notes to form a pleasing aromatic experience using essential oils that go together well without competing with one another and which lasts the perfect amount of time.

Aromatherapy blending in order to produce a perfume can sometimes use synthesized chemicals that smell like essential oils. The use of chemicals over essential oils is often because they are cheaper and more reliable in quality. Personally I think that this defeats the whole purpose of aromatherapy blending. The natural oils may not be so consistent but they win hands down with bio-energy.

Depending on the particular aromatherapy product, blends often contain alcohol, carrier oils, herbs, water and of course essential oils to make unique blends. There are various categories of essential oils such as minty, woodsy, floral and oriental. Although they can also blend well with those in other categories, oils in the same category usually work well together. Various new scents are released at irregular intervals as the oils harmonize and evaporate at different stages.

Aromatherapy Blending For Therapeutic Use

Improving an emotional or physical condition is the main object of aromatherapy blending for therapeutic use. A pleasing smell from the blend would be nice but it is not necessary. Care must be taken to make sure that the oils are not detrimental to other areas of the person being treated, whilst at the same time the blend should combat the specific areas needed.

Discretion must be exercised when selecting the oils to be used. Some oils are not recommended for pregnant women or people with certain medical conditions, for example. In instances where there is more than one ailment to be cured, different oils can be combined to target these conditions but the oils must blend well together in order to reap the benefits. Essential oils have different effects during aromatherapy blending; some are used to energize, others are used to relax and there are kinds that combat against pain.

As you can see aromatherapy blending is an art.

Understanding the basics of how a high quality burner for oils works is very easy. The burner warms up the oil to form vapors that are released into the air. While it is a simple concept, not every burner works in the same way. Higher quality burners are virtually always going to be a great choice. There are many reasons that this is correct.

A better quality burner will dispel the essential oils more uniformly and over a larger area than a lower quality burner. This is mostly because a top quality burner will be made from materials and assembled in a way that naturally allows for even and consistent heating of the oils. When you get an even and consistent heat on the oils it permits them to produce a more steady and reliable vapour.

A burner should be simple and safe to use. A lower quality burner might be a risky choice. A burner needs to be made from high quality materials so it doesn’t crack when heated. It also has to be well placed to withstand the essential oils and not break down or otherwise get damaged from the oils. A lower quality burner won’t be made to face up to the heat and the oil and so not last you long.

You also want to have a burner that won’t use too much oil. Higher quality burners are usually made to use small quantities of the oil. They’re made in a way that makes sure a small amount of oil will last for a substantial period of time. This is done thru making the heat source controllable or making the reservoir insulated in some way to prevent overheating and quick vaporization of the essential oils. When oil burns too quickly not only do you have to use more oil, but you’ve got to physically refill the reservoir which can often be quite irritating and break the entire atmosphere of calm that you needed to create with aromatherapy.

Prime quality burners usually will have advanced features. Features may allow you to simply turn the unit off and on. They could permit you to adjust the heat settings. Features may be something similar to a timer that automatically turns the unit on or off when you would like it to. Features make operating the burner far easier and take plenty of the perils out of using them.

Mostly prime quality burners are going to offer you a better aromatherapy experience. They make it less complicated and safer to utilise a burner for aromatherapy purposes. Higher quality burners can be ornamental or simple looking. They may cost a lot or they can be exceedingly affordable. The standard of a burner for aromatherapy essential oils is founded on how it is created, not how it’s or the price . You actually have to try the unit before you buy it. Make sure that it looks like a top notch made piece and that it has options and features that you need. A high quality burner for oils can last you for years if you employ it properly, so it is well worth the time spent selecting it.

I recommend Amazon for buying your high quality burner. Click here for a display of available burners.
